Gasthof Kohlern

The staff’s generous, thoughtful kindness, along with the quiet, made Gasthof Kohlern feel so restful. The rooms have a simple elegance, and there’s wonderful cuisine, wine, and breakfast. We loved the natural surroundings and the amazing views of the mountains. Viele Dank for creating a place that makes it easy to slow down and appreciate life. Five stars don’t seem enough, it felt like an eleven-star stay.

I was surprised the hotel is rated only three stars, because our stay felt like four or maybe even five. It’s a beautiful, thoughtfully designed place with high-quality execution, peaceful surroundings, and incredible views. The staff are talented, attentive, accommodating, and a pleasure to spend time with. Special thanks to Aldo, who joined us at dinner and breakfast and gave us fantastic service. I can’t wait to come back.

We felt treated like family from the moment we arrived. The rooms were clean, the view was wonderful, and the location was great. The staff were the best, so welcoming. One thing I wish I’d known when booking: you don’t need a car to get here. About a 10-minute walk away, the world’s oldest cable car runs down the mountain, and from the bottom you can catch a bus into town. Cable car service is included with the room.

We had a chilly day for the season and took the chance to try the spa and sauna area. I can imagine visiting outside the summer season could be a great experience. The location in beautiful South Tyrol was top-notch, and the luxury, service, and hospitality were exactly what we needed for our vacation. We’ll most likely return and recommend it to friends and family.
