Weingut Schmid Oberrautner Apartment Suites

Judith and Florian were around and so friendly throughout our stay at their winery in South Tyrol. They gave us hiking and food recommendations, and we tried every one and loved them. The room was spacious, spotless, and cozy, with a bottle of wine included. Such a memorable stay, 10/10.

The best part for me was the winery tour and tasting with Florian. I wanted to really experience the wine, and he delivered: we tasted straight from the barrels and tanks while hearing about the winery and his family, the vineyards, the region, and how he makes the wine. Then we sampled his delicious wines in the beautiful tasting room. One of the most personal and memorable tastings I've had. We stayed in the Ullin flat, which was spacious, beautiful, and really comfortable. The bed may have been the softest I've slept in in Europe. The bathroom had a great shower, and the little kitchen was set up perfectly, even though we hardly used it. There was lots of room, including an upper loft, and from the window we could see the mountains and a small patch of vines. Florian also picked us up at the train station, so arriving was easy. It's in a lovely, quieter part of town, but an easy walk to the center, with a bus stop nearby too. They gave us a Bolzano card for free local transit, along with other perks and discounts, which was fun to have. Florian's restaurant suggestions were spot on, especially Il Corso for pizza. It might be the best pizza I've had anywhere, and it's just a short walk away. We spent two nights at Schmid Oberrautner, and the hospitality, comfort, character, and attention to detail made it a flawless stay, though far too short. The hosts are what make this place stand out. We can't wait to return to Bolzano and stay again. If you're after a distinctive stay in Alto Adige, this is the place.

The garden was the best part for me. You can lie on the grass and relax with their wine, though there are so many kinds to try, and they're all fantastic! Judith and Florian were incredibly kind and gave us detailed advice on getting around the city and finding trekking paths. The room was spotless and everything was tidy. Such a wonderful experience in North Italy, I couldn't have asked for better.

The wine was delightful, and we had a lovely stay in the Katarina flat. Judith and Florian were warm, spectacular hosts and very helpful.
