I've returned to Hotel Piccolo Lido a dozen times over the past few years after trying plenty of other places. For me, its food is the best I've had at any restaurant in Northern Italy, and it's reasonably priced. The seafood pasta is unbeatable, as is the whole fish cooked with olives and potatoes. The owners are often there and always make you feel welcome. The staff bring wonderfully warm Italian service, which makes the place special. It's right by the sea, and I always look forward to swimming in the clear blue water after a meal. Can't wait to come back!

We had to cancel our reservation at check-in. The rooms are supposed to be non-smoking, but they stank of old cigarettes, and even had ashtrays, which we were told were just decoration. It took us 20 minutes to book a nicer hotel in San Remo. The town looks nice, but I'd stay away from this particular hotel.

The rooms were a good size, and everything was well organized and friendly. The breakfast was fine. You can pull up at the front to unload, or deal with steep steps. If you need parking, reserve it ahead of time. The sea view is currently spoiled by civic works.

The location is excellent, and there's private garage parking for an extra fee. The street is very popular with tourists.
