Le Casine del Borgo

The river and bridge made a beautiful view from our clean apartment, and we had a great stay. There’s a train nearby, but we didn’t hear it, especially at night. The owner was kind and helpful, pointing us to the closest supermarkets and good places for local food. We’ll be back!

Wouldn’t recommend it. The place is right between the railway and the ring road, and the rooms aren’t soundproof, so sleeping was a nightmare. The bathrooms were dirty and smelled bad. There was no sugar, and the remote was missing its batteries. Then at 8 in the morning, just as we were getting back from the Scorpions concert, a pickup truck started unloading firewood onto the street right below our window.

We booked the apartment because we had three dogs. There are also rooms with private bathrooms and some with shared ones. The only drawback was that the bedroom faces a highway, though the living area has a lovely view. The bed and breakfast is beautiful, very clean, and fully renovated.

We only had one night here while passing through, and I wish we could have stayed longer. The river view is unique, and the property sits just a few steps from Ponte del Diavolo. Its location is handy for a visit to Lucca and a great base for exploring the natural beauty of the Garfagnana. Le Casine nel Borgo is new, clean, and beautifully furnished, with a fully equipped kitchen and spacious bathrooms. The hostess was very kind and helpful. It has everything you need, and I’d highly recommend it.
