Relais Antica Locanda La Diligenza

We’ll be back! We spent New Year’s Eve 2025 at the beautiful, romantic Antica Locanda La Diligenza Hotel with our dog Janet, and felt welcome from the start. Alessandro, the owner, was lovely and so hospitable, always making sure we were comfortable and offering tips on places to visit and eat. The village was delightful, and it was easy to get to Urbino, Urbania, San Lucio, and San Marino. A great stay with four-legged friends, too. 🐕🐾

The park next door was a lovely surprise, with a whirlpool, a place to relax, and a sulfur shower. Hearing its history was fascinating. Inside, the inn is clean, welcoming, and carefully looked after, with a sense that every detail has a story and that you become part of it during your stay. We found this historic place by chance while looking for a weekend getaway. Ariella and her son Alessandro welcomed us with such care and professionalism. Ariella’s cooking has real character, the kind of old-school food that feels honest and full of life. Alessandro was always attentive and available, which made the stay special. We’ll definitely come back. Highly recommended!

The restaurant serves thoughtfully prepared dishes using high-quality ingredients, including tasting menus, and the rooms are clean and quiet. The owners bring real hospitality, courtesy, and discretion to this historic place. Its retro style has been made especially warm and welcoming. Highly recommended!

We booked an apartment so I could have privacy while traveling with my three dogs, and sleeping to the murmur of the Meta stream just a few meters away was an incredible surprise. It flows from Lauro to form the Metauro River, and even in August the water ran beautifully straight while elsewhere temperatures were already over 40 degrees. There was nothing I didn’t like. I couldn’t return because of health reasons, but we’ll come back as soon as we can. It’s one of those places that makes me and my family fall in love with it, and where a few days off can be a real success. Borgo Pace is tiny, with just over 500 residents, and everyone seems to know or be connected to everyone else. Even the small businesses support one another. There’s a friendly feeling all day, and you feel at home even out on the street. The owners of Locanda La Diligenza fit right in, taking such good care of you. I was especially touched by the owner’s mother. Despite her age, she dresses and does her makeup wonderfully, as if she were 20. It reminded me of my own mother, who kept looking in the mirror until the last day of her life, wanting to please and be liked. That matters to me because how people carry themselves shows in the way they treat others, and these are truly wonderful people. The photos show the large green space, where you can enjoy the sun from the jacuzzi or play a game with friends. And the restaurant is another reason to visit: the owner’s mother cooks amazing dishes.
