I spent two nights here for a nearby sports competition, and really enjoyed my stay. The hosts gave me a great ride to and from Milano airport, wore masks, and kept the place neat and tidy. They made me feel incredibly welcome. It's not the newest, shiniest hotel, but it was a 10-minute walk from everything I needed, including restaurants, a grocery store, trails, and mountains. I was offered dinner at the property, and the freshly cooked meal tasted amazing. Three rooms share one bathroom, which has both a shower and a bath, warm water, and all the other necessities. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was plenty big for one or two people. Since I love the trails and having everything close by, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for the same. I had a great time without renting a car, which feels pretty rare in places outside the big cities.

The vineyard tour at the end was a lovely way to finish our visit, and the family’s enthusiasm for wine came through in everything. Ellena first took us around the casks, bottling area, and fermentation space, then we sat down to a board of salami, bread, pickled zucchini, and aubergine. Andrea, the chef, made delicious polenta with meat; I couldn’t tell what kind it was, but it was wonderful. We paired the food with five wines and got to try a very strong grappa, too. We’d come to taste wine while staying in Borgomanero, and Ellena was a fantastic host. If you’re nearby, I can’t recommend a visit enough.

We stopped for a tasting during a gathering among the vineyards and tried some excellent red and white wines. The welcome was professional and friendly, too. Definitely worth it. See you soon, Ivan.
