Hotel Lungomare 3 Stelle

For the price, we were really happy with the simple rooms, one with two bedrooms and another with one for our family. They weren't fancy, but we had a large balcony where four of us could spend time, hot water whenever we needed it, and Wi-Fi good enough for remote work and video calls. The 5G was as fast as back home, and I even took work calls while driving. The pool was out of order during our stay, though we hadn't planned to use it since we prefer the beach. We also had a front-facing view. The best part is how close the beach is: one minute across the street to clear water, good snorkeling, and a calm spot to swim with younger kids. In the complex there's a Mister Risparmio, like a DM or Müller, for snacks, water, and household goods. There's a restaurant next door, and within 5-10 minutes on foot we could reach grocery stores in every direction, including two Despars and a local fresh-food shop, plus bakeries, cafes, bars, restaurants, and shops. I believe the hotel has new ownership from what I understood, and the older reviews didn't ring true to us. Even with the language gap, everyone was so kind and helpful. We only speak a little Italian, and only some people speak English, German, or Spanish, but we always figured things out and shared a few laughs. “Rural” Calabria has modernized since 5-10 years ago. It still has authentic charm and beautiful nature, but it's much easier to get around now.
