DoubleTree by Hilton Brescia

After coming from America for our son’s wedding at Lake Garda, we chose the Double Tree in Brescia for four nights since it was the closest Hilton option. Marta welcomed us, spoke English fluently, and quickly helped us get settled with all the information we needed. Our room was very well appointed, as you’d expect from Hilton. We stayed in for dinner after the long trip and ate at “the 45,” which was outstanding. Later, Marta also pointed us to Chalet de Castillo for a quiet drink in town. The whole team was exceptional, and Marta is a real treasure. We also found Brescia a lovely city that hasn’t been overwhelmed by tourists.

We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a beautiful luxury room, and the reception team stayed friendly, professional, and helpful throughout. Dinner at the restaurant was fantastic, with lovely presentation and quality, and the service felt attentive and sincere. The hotel car park wasn’t available when we arrived, but the staff quickly sorted out another option without any hassle. We had a great experience and found it very good value. Thanks to everyone, we’ll be back.

The staff were friendly and polite, and breakfast was tasty, though the selection was limited. The rooms were good apart from the cups, which weren’t clean. The hotel is a little outside the center, but the metro makes it easy to get around. There isn’t much to do close by, so visiting places means travelling elsewhere.

Everything else was fine, but checkout came with a frustrating billing mix-up. I’d already paid the full room amount through booking.com, yet I was charged again. Getting the whole refund back took about five extra days.
