Hotel Igea

The rooms don't have an electric kettle, and the bathroom fittings need replacing even though they still work. The big plus is the convenient location in central Brescia, within walking distance of both the train and bus stations.

The staff are nice, and the restaurant is okay, about three-star level. But the rooms and furniture are old, more like a two-star place. This doesn't come close to the standard of a four-star hotel.

I lost a lot of time trying to find the other hotel and couldn't do any sightseeing because I had to arrange somewhere else to stay at the last minute. I booked this place weeks ago because it was close to the train station, but when I arrived today, hot and sweaty, they said they had no room for me and sent me to another hotel owned by the same business. I searched for it for over an hour and asked several people along the way, but nobody knew where it was. It seemed to be behind the station, and Hotel Igea told me to go through the station to reach it. If they were going to move me, the least they could have done was provide a taxi. Meanwhile, several guests were outside Hotel Igea. Disgusting.

I paid for a four-star room at Hotel Igea, but after my reservation was confirmed, they moved me to Hotel Leonessa without asking. That was a clear downgrade to a three-star hotel, with no compensation or alternative offered. I asked the hotel to treat me fairly, but got no response. There was no price adjustment, and the service felt like three-star level. The older female receptionist with blonde hair in a bun was extremely cold, and I didn't feel guests were valued. I was told she also works at Igea, and I wonder if she treats people differently depending on whether they're at the three-star or four-star hotel. I'm deeply disappointed and won't return. Too bad the system won't let me give zero stars.
