Hotel Leonessa

The room was huge, which is unusual in Italy, and had everything I needed. The hotel is modern and only a minute from the train station, but that didn’t affect my impression of it. I’d definitely stay here again when I visit Brescia, and I can only recommend it.

Angela at Hotel Leonessa really came through for us. We already had a place booked, but after seeing how kind and professional the staff were, I wouldn’t hesitate to book a room at the Leonessa in Brescia next time. We’d arrived at the rail station with lots of luggage, and half the elevators weren’t working, so we couldn’t get up to the taxi stand. I asked Angela if she could help us hail a cab, even though I wouldn’t normally ask, and she did. My wife and I would otherwise have had to drag everything around the station, and I’m not even sure that was possible. I didn’t get a chance to work closely with Leonessa, but Angela’s kindness and cheerfulness saved our day. My sincere thanks to her!

The room with the whirlpool bath had a few problems. The bathroom door wouldn’t close, the shower’s hot and cold water controls didn’t work, the curtains were dirty, and there were no instructions for using the whirlpool. None of that was a major obstacle, but at this price I expected a higher standard. The hotel itself is lovely and right by the train station, a strategic spot. Reception staff were very friendly, the classic continental breakfast was enjoyable, and the windows kept the sound out very well.

We got in late at night, and it was very handy having the hotel less than a minute’s walk from Brescia Station. To get there directly, though, you need to leave the station from the side opposite the main entrance. For a one-night stay, things were fine and there weren’t any major problems. Breakfast was basic and nothing special.
