RM-H501-DPOR3A1 - Trastevere Charme

Our evenings in Trastevere were lovely: we could wander through the neighborhood and eat at nearby restaurants, then come back to a quiet square. There’s plenty of choice close by, though booking ahead is a good idea for Saturday night. A supermarket is about a 10-minute walk away, and the area feels atmospheric without being deserted or overrun with tourists dragging suitcases over the cobbles. We mostly explored Rome on foot, with a couple of bus and taxi rides for places farther out. The apartment itself is spacious, with high ceilings and full-height windows. It’s stylish but cozy, with antique furniture and dishes, a vintage dining room, a bright living room and a big soft sofa. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean, and the kitchen had what we needed. Appliances and WiFi worked well. The building has an elevator. Antonella was friendly and quick to answer questions. She also arranged airport transfers for a reasonable price. We were met on time, driven in a good car, and helped with our luggage. There’s a popular restaurant with live guitar, piano and soprano on the ground floor of the pretty neighboring building, decorated with plants. We didn’t mind the music, it added to the Roman evening feel, and things quieted down around 11:00 PM. We did find sorting the trash a little confusing, since paper, metal and organic waste are collected on different days, but the owner can explain it.

The antiques give the place a feel like stepping back into medieval Rome. It’s magnificent.

Everything was top notch for us: the price, services, apartment, and location. The whole lot!
