Hotel Paradiso Como

We had a great stay at Hotel Paradiso Como. Our room was nicely decorated, and we got a free upgrade to one with a balcony. The Lake Como view was lovely, and it had everything we needed: free water, a coffee maker, bathrobes, slippers, a hair dryer, and free toiletries in the bathroom. We especially liked the shower, with good pressure and warm water quickly. It was also easy to stream Netflix from our phone to the TV. The hotel has an outdoor pool and jacuzzi. They're free to use before 5 pm, or you can reserve them after that for 30€ per person. Breakfast was good. They bring a box with bread, croissants, cakes, sandwiches, and juice, and you can also order fruit salad, pancakes, yoghurt, egg dishes, coffee, and tea from the menu at no extra cost. There were gluten-free options, too. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant, MamaGina, one evening and enjoyed it. Parking is limited. There are a few free spaces in front of the hotel, plus a paid lot that I believe costs €15 per day. When we arrived, the spaces out front were full, so staff directed us to park behind the Polenteria, a restaurant owned by the same owners. That's not far away, but it snowed heavily one day and we couldn't get out because the hill is steep. Luckily the hotel quickly arranged a snow plow. It was still a bit stressful, so keep that in mind, and we'd recommend having snow chains in the car, both for parking and for going up and down the hill. Como is about a 25-minute drive away on a narrow, uphill road. When it snowed, the roads were salted and plowed, which helped. If you don't have a car, the hotel can arrange a shuttle to Como. We really enjoyed our stay, and the staff were friendly and helpful, with amazing views. Just be aware that the road there is narrow and uphill.
