This is a very large place, actually a group of apartments, each bigger than most horses. The pool area is excellent, and the owner is helpful and creates a friendly atmosphere. For a large group sharing the apartments, there’s no good central space to gather for dinner. The kitchens are too small, and the tables can’t seat everyone. Trash is another problem. There’s no disposal on site, so you have to take it into town, which means a lot of trips for a big group. The apartments also have very few small bins, so rubbish piles up in the kitchens and rooms. It’s annoying and pretty gross, and needs a solution.

The pool was the best part of the house. I spent lots of time swimming with my family, and my brother swam underwater to the other side and back twice. It was really impressive, and we all applauded. I told him he was a great brother and that I was proud of him. Later, we celebrated with a nice meal of salmon at the house. The stove was good for preparing it, and the toilet facilities were good too. A very nice place!

It got pretty dark at night, so a few more lights would help 🙈 Everyone was very friendly and things were good. The pool was clean and wasn’t overfilled 😊👍🏼

The house was very cold when we arrived in the first two weeks of May, during a stretch of cold, rainy and humid weather. Heating cost extra at 5 euros per m3, and I was disappointed that InterHome hadn’t mentioned that cost when I asked about additional charges. The apartment was for eight people, for my family and my wife’s family. I booked it after seeing photos on Airbnb, posted by InterHome, the agency the host uses. Outside, the lawns were overgrown, the pool abandoned and unusable, and the rusty children’s play area sat in the middle of a sea of land. Inside, the place was very dirty, with dust and cobwebs everywhere and damp, moldy walls. It seemed not to have been used for a while. I contacted InterHome right away to complain. They just said they were sorry, offered no alternative, and we would have changed locations if they’d given us that option. The host also called and kept forcefully saying we were there to cause problems, without giving me a chance to speak or share my view. We were customers who had paid for something very different from what we received. Luckily, Airbnb supported us during the reporting process. A stay to forget.

Umberto was welcoming and friendly, and the house was spacious and comfortable. There’s a large shared pool with good equipment. The kitchen could use more glasses and spoons, and there’s no air conditioning or mosquito nets. Arezzo is a bit of a drive, though many places worth visiting in Tuscany, including Siena, Cortona, Montepulciano and Castiglione del Lago, are about an hour away.
