Valentina made this the best wine tasting I’ve ever had. Her passion for the estate really comes through in the wines, which show off the different microclimates. It’s an experience you shouldn’t miss. Thanks for making our visit so special! 😃

The staff are what make Villa Petrolo feel so special. Laura, Francesca the chef and the whole team offer the kind of genuine hospitality that’s rare now, and going the extra mile seems natural to them. The food, wine, peaceful atmosphere and small details all fit together so well. The villa itself feels authentic and cared for, with its history intact rather than modernized for tourists. It’s also ideally placed for reaching Tuscan towns and villages, most within about an hour by car, though coming back to Petrolo each evening was the best part. We kept wishing we could stay longer. Make time to walk around the estate, through the vineyards and olive trees, and enjoy the quiet hills and tiny grapes growing for future Super Tuscan wines. And don’t worry if emails aren’t answered right away before you arrive, everything is under control. The in-house pizza party is a must, Laura really knows her craft!

We loved how relaxing the stay was. The views are stunning, and there’s plenty of space for a group. The beds were comfortable, there was always hot water, and the heating and fireplace kept the house warm. We enjoyed every moment.

Marco was a great host, quick and friendly whenever we needed a response. La Costa had everything promised and was comfortable for our two weeks. Its location between Siena, Arezzo and Florence worked really well, with lovely views of olive trees, vineyards and Petrolo’s main mansion, where delicious wines are made. We made the most of our stay.

The pool was a favourite with the grandchildren, though it is 1.5 m deep, so there’s nowhere to stand. The villa itself was charming, with enough crockery and space for a large family to eat together. It could use a little TLC, and the mosquitoes were a nuisance, but neither stopped us having a lovely family stay for a wedding nearby. The location is very picturesque. Finding the place could have been easier: even with instructions, better signs would help identify the right villa. We’d recommend it for a rural stay and would love to come back with the family.
