Cala Mirto Hotel

What stayed with us most was how kind and accommodating the staff were. They were warm and gracious every day, and once surprised us with calamari and fries after we'd had delicious cocktails in the evening. Our room was cleaned often, which was lovely to return to. We were at Cala Mirto for about 10 days in June 2023. There's a really beautiful beach about a five-minute walk away, and a delightful restaurant just up the road at roughly the same distance, with great pizza, pasta, and seafood. The hotel also has a large pool, a spacious outdoor area for breakfast and drinks, and indoor seating. The one downside for us was that there was no internet in the rooms. Otherwise, it was truly great.

The pool was awesome, and breakfast was great. We also had dinner on our last evening, and it was the best steak ever. Our family of four, including two kids, had a wonderful stay. The service was amazing, and the rooms were quiet, cozy, and clean. Thank you!

The gardens around our room and the pool had such a relaxed feel that, after a night or two, the place felt like home. The pool area was simple and clean, breakfast was really nice, and the countryside around the hotel was lovely, with beautiful beaches very close by. My 15-year-old son and I left London for a week in Sardinia on 8th August. We landed in lovely warm weather and took the bus from Olbia airport to Tanuanella, thinking it was closer to the hotel than it turned out to be. We started walking with our luggage, but two minutes later a lovely woman stopped in her car, asked where we were headed, and insisted on driving us to the cala mirto. We were welcomed warmly, and the staff were patient and friendly as I tried to speak as much Italian as I could. I was a little unsure how we'd get around and keep my son entertained, but the front-of-house staff helped me hire a scooter and told us about nearby restaurants and the local bus timetable. That made for a wonderful trip. I'd highly recommend the hotel for its relaxed, personal feel.

You need a car to get to the beautiful places nearby, and the small roads form a complicated maze. There are surely better hotels for the same price. Even though the hotel was almost empty, it felt like everything was arranged to squeeze extra money from guests, always with a smile. For example, they push a rather ridiculous €10-a-day parking charge, so be aware of that.
