The host Serena was incredibly generous and kind. We arrived late on our first evening, and they even made us dinner. We spent three weeks in Italy, and this was our favorite stop. The grounds are beautifully kept, with striking steel art and animals including donkeys, horses, and very friendly dogs. It's a real gem in the heart of Val D’Orcia, well placed for exploring nearby towns and cities. We're so glad we stayed and hope to return. Thank you, Serena, for your big heart 🩵

The Appaloosa apartment has two comfortable bedrooms. The main one is a loft reached by a very narrow spiral staircase; the other is a good-sized room with two twin beds. Everything was very clean and cozy, with white linen sheets. There’s filtered water from the kitchen tap, good shower pressure and plenty of hot water. Each room has air conditioning, and the place is quiet. The dogs bark a lot, but they’re sweet and cute. The hosts were helpful and easy to reach. The views are stunning, and this is a lovely, peaceful place with a rustic, cozy feel. There’s a slight musty smell throughout the house. We had dinner prepared by the host on the first night because it was convenient, but at €45 per person it didn’t seem like good value. We were also uncomfortable because the cook coughed, sneezed, and smoked while making the meal. The power went out on our last night, though the circuit breaker was easy to find and the host answered my call quickly. The road up is steep and unpaved, so an AWD car is recommended, as the host's directions say. Google Maps got us there, but phone signal drops out, so download maps offline and save the host's number to call when you arrive. It’s roughly 30 minutes to an hour from the main Tuscan sights. We’d stay again, and two nights felt just right. It’s charming and rustic rather than luxurious, so come with the right expectations.

A relaxing stay at a beautiful Tuscan farm run by a lovely family. From the pool and sunset to the rolling hills outside our bedroom windows, the views were picturesque from every angle. Breakfast was generous, and the home-cooked dinner was delicious. They were very accommodating about my dietary restrictions. The friendly dogs and cat made an already wonderful stay even nicer.

We stayed in late June, when it was 30°C or warmer, so having air conditioning in the charming Italian-style room was a big plus. The bed was lovely and the atmosphere cozy. Breakfast was a highlight, brought to our table with plenty of choice: ham, cheese, fruit, yogurt, and muesli. Dinner can be arranged on request, though we didn't try it. There are lots of thoughtfully arranged places around the property to sit, read, or simply enjoy the view. The owners were welcoming, friendly, spoke great English, and were always happy to chat or help. The old farm sits in complete peace and quiet near Buonconvento, with birds, insects, and nature as the soundtrack. The large, clean pool has plenty of places to relax, and the Tuscan hills are all around you. There’s sun all day, with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We loved the setting, people, food, and atmosphere. A wonderful escape from noise and stress 🌞

Serena was such a kind host and gave us thoughtful suggestions for nearby sights and restaurants. We had a thoroughly pleasant stay. The peaceful setting felt rejuvenating, and it was well worth walking around the grounds and taking in the scenery.
