The room had some good points: it was large, had a balcony and a good bathroom, especially the fantastic showerhead and water jet. The bed was very comfortable, though the pillows weren't. The location is handy for the main beaches. The breakfast was packaged food, stale biscuits, and the same half doughnut sat in the cake pan for two days. The furnishings weren't practical, with nowhere to leave my open suitcases, and the sheets and furnishings were worn. The owner's behavior felt intrusive, unfair, and exhausting. Back in February, she asked for a 20% deposit for a July reservation with free cancellation. I declined, and she said that was okay. Later she asked for €17 to have the sheets washed because I had a dog. I agreed, but when I arrived the sheets were old, short, and not even ironed. She asked for my number and messaged me on WhatsApp. Signs around the building said to turn off the air conditioning when leaving. Since it was 41 degrees Celsius and my 16-year-old dog was staying in the room, I told her I'd left it on. The next morning I couldn't find milk, so I checked the shelves and found soy milk. When I went out, I saw messages explaining the breakfast arrangements, telling me not to open the kitchen cabinets, and saying I owed her €2.50. I refused, and she texted "OK." I thought she'd leave me alone then, but she asked whether I'd taken the dog with me. I said it was in the room, and she said the air conditioning would be on for two days and I'd have to pay extra. I said no, and she replied, "OK, okay." She asked if I'd be in the room at 6 PM so she could leave the receipt. I said I didn't know when I'd be back and asked her to leave it in the living room and not clean the room. Around 6 PM she knocked and said she needed to leave the receipt and MUST CHECK THE ROOM. My husband had to get dressed, take the dog, and go out. I was completely shocked. She came in and said, "She looks annoyed." What? I was on vacation, and she'd been bothering me for two days with absurd demands and loads of messages, and now she had to check the room? Then she said she'd stopped by to leave the receipt and a little something for guests, even though she'd just insisted she had to check the room. She said that was normal and that it was my fault for not having her clean. She explained that the fridge for our room wasn't the one in the kitchen with numbered shelves, but another one in the hallway. To be fair, she'd written "in the hallway" in one of the 200 messages she'd sent in about 20 hours, but I hadn't realized there were two fridges. What a hassle! In the end, she said I'd caused problems from the start and that she'd already reported our behavior to Booking. I was stunned and asked her to leave me alone. At my last breakfast the next morning, I found the right fridge in the hallway. My impression was that she kept trying to get money from me: the deposit, the laundry fee, the soy milk, and the extra air conditioning charge. Each time I said no, she backed down. Her approach was to have you self check in, then send all the rules and information by WhatsApp. I would have preferred a proper welcome, the necessary information, and not being constantly disturbed. Honestly, I strongly advise against staying here. I felt annoyed and uncomfortable.
