Suite Cagliaritane

Only book this if location is all you care about and noise doesn’t bother you. My room was unbelievably loud. The hotel is in an old building with very old, leaky windows and dirty shutters, so street traffic and the train station came right through. I felt like I was in the station itself. Earplugs didn’t help, and I had to move the mattress into the bathroom to sleep. The facilities were old too: the door trim came off as I closed the door, and the toilet tank refilled noisily. After flushing, I couldn’t use it again for 15-20 minutes. The bathroom ventilation was loud as well. There wasn’t even soap when I arrived, so I had to ask. The staff did try to help.

For the price, this works well as a base if you’ll spend your days out in town. The room was small and dark but clean enough, while the building entrance was dirty and smelled bad. The location is strategic, across from the railway and coach station and about 250m from the tourist city center. Small shops and a cafeteria/pizzeria are right next door.

Young entrepreneurs run the place and were very kind and helpful, keeping in touch clearly and regularly. The rooms were clean and spacious, the beds comfortable, and there’s an elevator. I really liked it, especially the wonderful location.

We arrived to find our room right on a very noisy street, with a window that wouldn’t close. There wasn’t any toilet paper in the bathroom either. When I asked why nobody had warned us about the noise, I didn’t get a reply.
