Antico Borgo Etneo Country Hotel

I really liked the path through the orange and lemon groves, with views of Mount Etna. The place is well situated between Taormina and Catania, too. Francesca, the administrator, was amazing. When we mentioned the internet wasn't working, they looked into it right away and switched it on. It had been off because we arrived on the first day of the season. Breakfast was generous, with orange juice you could squeeze yourself as the standout. There were vegetarian and vegan choices as well, including almond milk.

The hotel was comfortable and quiet, and the botanical garden made for a peaceful stay. Francesca kept us informed from the start of the booking and stayed in touch until check-in so everything went smoothly. She also gave us detailed tips about the surrounding area. We highly recommend this hotel.

Breakfast was a treat: you could press your own orange juice, and there were homemade jams, honey, and cake. We also had the four-course dinner, which was delicious. On the other two nights we walked to a friendly nearby pizzeria with good food. The country house has lots of farm character and is surrounded by its own lemon and orange trees. There’s a 1.3 km walking route through the gardens, past the beehives. Our room was very nice, and the two lovely women running the place did their best to help and offered great ideas for things to do. It’s well placed for trips to Mount Etna and Taormina. All in all, a wonderful experience.

On my second visit to this hotel in two years, Francesca at reception was once again wonderful. She handled all our requests with great politeness and helped make the stay comfortable and pleasant. The breakfast is fantastic, with fresh, high-quality food made on the hotel’s own farm. Every day they bake a different cake, which adds a nice bit of variety to the morning spread.
