Seehotel Ambach

The hotel's got a retro 1970s feel, with vintage pieces all around. It's right by the lake in a really nice, quiet area, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. We borrowed their e-bikes to tour the lake, which was a great experience.

The dinner on the lakeside terrace was Michelin-worthy, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The warm lake is easy to get to, and hotel guests can use the water sports equipment for free. The new bath and spa house is also beautifully designed. Surrounded by vineyards and apple orchards, the hotel feels wonderfully peaceful, yet it still has plenty of room for families with children. Its huge park and well-preserved 1970s architecture are part of the charm, and the views are amazing. It's away from major traffic, but still only about a 15-minute walk to the bus stop connecting Kalterer See with the surrounding villages. Places like this are rare, and I'd wholeheartedly recommend it.

We stayed four days in late October and loved the hotel's modern 1960s feel. The staff were excellent, and the chef was five stars. Both lunch and dinner were at a higher standard than I'd expect from a hotel. A big surprise, and we'll definitely return next year. The hikes were very convenient from the hotel. The hotel is in a quiet spot by the lake, surrounded by grape trees, and the service exceeded our expectations. Breakfast had lots of choices. Dinner was five courses each night, with one course or a buffet, and there was so much food by the end. You can book a yoga class right in front of the lake. A friend told us you can see this hotel in all the designer magazines. The lake is close by, and SUP, yoga classes, boats, and kayaks are all free to use. The food was good quality, the room was clean and tidy, and the staff were friendly. The hotel management seemed experienced and well organized. We didn't wait long between courses. The furniture and lighting were designer pieces, and there was a big field to relax in. The spa room, with 360-degree windows, was super comfortable and clean. A few small things: shampoo and conditioner were missing, though that was okay. The room was a bit small, but there was a living room so we didn't have to stay in the bedroom. The Wi-Fi was very weak or didn't work. For sure, I'll come back. ☺️
