Appartamento Pietro Giuliano

The flat was well located and had the essentials we needed. The owner, Pietro Giuliano, went out of his way to welcome me and my family. We arrived at midnight after a run of travel delays, and he greeted us warmly.

The bathroom problems made this apartment a very disappointing stay. It was moldy and dirty, and the plumbing was clearly faulty, with baking sheets and dish towels used for makeshift repairs. One morning we found the room flooded, which was awful. We were also worried to see the water heater outlet just inches from the leaking pipe, a potentially serious safety risk. We took photos and tried several times to reach the owner. He was hostile and did nothing to fix the problems. He also showed no concern that we couldn't use the bathroom for our entire stay, despite it being a basic necessity. At first he seemed polite and willing to accommodate us, but that didn't last. The stay turned into a nightmare, and I strongly advise against this property. PS. This review is written on behalf of a guest at the same property.

We were four people squeezed into a tiny, very dirty and damp room. At first, we made do with a superficial clean, at least in the bathroom. Then on the evening we arrived, we found a leaking pipe and the apartment started flooding. The host seemed helpful at first, but turned out to be unreliable. When we called the next morning to explain what had happened, he said there was nothing he could do. He didn't even refund half of the expenses he'd cleverly insisted we pay in advance when we arrived. We got insults instead, and had no way to communicate with him. I strongly advise against this place.

The host's behavior made our stay during the Annual Convention extremely negative. He came into our apartments without authorization. We had only given permission to enter the apartment below, where there was a water problem. He said things like, “We've never had this problem before!”, “It's probably a blocked sewer pipe,” and “Please absolutely do not use the shower and wash sparingly.” It was Saturday, but he said nobody was working and the damage would be fixed Monday. He also said, “It's not a disaster to go without a shower for a day!” and, “If you want to shower, go ahead. You'll cause me harm!” We had deliberately left our door unlocked, but when we came back it was double-locked. That made us suspicious and convinced us someone had entered without our consent. He also entered another apartment in the same building. We had left an iron out in the intermediate apartment, and later that same day he told us not to use it there. We couldn't see how he would know about the iron unless he had gone in without permission. Rather than apologize, the host kept sending intrusive and unwanted messages to our phone numbers. We believe this was a serious violation of our privacy, in both apartments. The comments and other observations have been kept and can be clearly proved to the appropriate authorities. We're disappointed and concerned that our privacy was compromised, and hope future guests can have a peaceful, safe stay.
