Hotel Caesar

Lunch was actually pretty good, though breakfast was uninspiring. The Wi-Fi was slow and connected in a clunky, old-fashioned way. The balcony was filthy and had broken furniture, which is unacceptable. In general, the place feels run down, with things damaged or dirty, and carries the air of somewhere whose best days are long gone. There are rules everywhere. The pool is surrounded by a net, and swimming hats are required. The fitness center was the strangest part: you have to pay, book ahead, and can only use it in the middle of the day, when you're usually doing something else. I couldn't get in because they said only five people were allowed, even though there were only three in the room. Why? The air conditioning was running with the windows open. Why? It feels like they've stopped thinking about customer service and guests' happiness a long time ago. Or maybe it's that southern mentality of doing things as they always have and refusing to discuss improvements.

The location is good, and breakfast was good too, but this isn't a four-star hotel. The place feels too old, and the bathrooms need renovating.

Our room was lovely, comfortable, and the staff were polite, helpful, and spoke good English. The hotel sits somewhere beautiful and quiet, and it worked well as a base near Pisa and Florence. You really need a car here, though, or getting around will be difficult. Breakfast was basic, and I thought the SPA cost a bit much. Still, we had a lovely stay.

Breakfast was amazing, and there’s parking at the property. The staff were kind, and the baby bed we asked for was just right. For what you pay, though, it would be nice to have complimentary water, coffee, and a kettle. If you’re traveling with a young baby, you may want to bring your own kettle to warm water. Guests often refill their water gourds at breakfast.
