Casa Vacanze Poggio Aprico

Paola, the hostess, is incredibly kind and helpful. The place is close to town for shops and restaurants, about 10-15 km from the sea, and well positioned for interesting spots that feel like real Tuscany. We recommend San Vincenzo and Campiglia Marittima, and you can catch a boat to the Island of Elba from nearby Piombino. We went in June, when it wasn’t crowded and the whole area smelled wonderful. The garden is beautifully landscaped, with plenty of shade, comfortable furniture, and lots of privacy. There’s a playground, darts, ping-pong, table football, and a selection of games. The pool is lovely too. Mosquitoes can be annoying, but the apartments have nets and insect repellent. The property is very well maintained. The apartments are simple, but have everything you need. We’d happily recommend it!

We had a wonderful week with my wife and our two children, aged four years and five months. Mrs. Paola was very kind and helpful, and everyday shopping was easy with a Conad supermarket and small shops nearby. The place has five apartments for three or four people, set in a traditional farmhouse on a hill with a garden, pool, and Wi-Fi. Guests can use the large pool and separate children’s pool. There’s also a small playground, barbecue area, and a spot for table football, ping-pong, and bocce. Mountain bikes are available for short rides. The setting and buildings fit right into the Tuscan landscape, and Baratti, Populonia, Rimigliano, and San Vincenzo are just minutes away.

For us, Poggio Aprico is what a holiday feels like: a welcoming, well-kept spot amid the quiet green Tuscan hills.

This is our third visit, and it’s still absolutely beautiful, right at the edge of Venturina Thermal Baths.
