Hotel la Conchiglia

I’m Irish and have been on the island for three days, eating out every day on holiday. This was easily the worst meal I’ve had here, so I’d avoid it. My girlfriend, who’s Italian, ordered the tuna and seafood pasta, but the tuna didn’t taste fresh and she became sick. I went for steak and fries, asking for the steak medium. The fries were rock-hard and seemed uncooked, and the steak might as well have been blue. The food was awful. The waiters were fine, but the chef needs attention. At lunchtime the restaurant was almost empty. Maybe the locals already know to stay away. Everywhere else we’ve eaten around the island has been amazing, and the prices here are about the same as other places, which makes this harder to accept. I rarely review places because I figure you get what you pay for, but this felt like the worst spot on the island by a long way. I suspect the owner stays in business because of the location and beach traffic. If the beach weren’t there, I don’t think it would last. Take your money somewhere else.

We came for dinner despite not staying at the hotel. Without a reservation, we were seated at the back of the restaurant, though the other tables stayed empty. The starters were okay, but the primi piatti were awful. It was very expensive, too.
