Alps Oriental Wellness Hotel

The dog welcome package was so thoughtful and kind, unlike anything we’ve seen at a hotel before. This is a warm, friendly place, and we’ll definitely return. After a day skiing, the spa was a great extra, especially the hot tubs overlooking the mountains. 10/10, maybe even 11 points. P.s booking directly with the hotel is greatly appreciated, rather than using platforms like booking.com.

What made the week unforgettable was how welcome the staff made me feel. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and kind, and they helped arrange a surprise party for my daughter's birthday. The half board was excellent, with local cheese, jam, and bread at breakfast, then a delicious four-course dinner. The chef deserves recognition. I liked the red house wine so much that I bought a few bottles to take home. The hotel is less than a five-minute drive from the Valchiavenna ski arena, and they also provide transport to the Sky Express. There’s plenty of guest parking and a dedicated ski room with lockers and heated racks to dry boots overnight. Rooms are cozy, clean, and serviced daily, with comfortable beds and duvets. I slept like I was at home. I didn’t try the wellness area, but whenever I passed it, I could smell nice herbs. I’ll definitely go there next time. This is now my favorite hotel, and I’ll be back next year for another ski holiday.

The staff are the part I remember most. They made it feel like coming home to long lost relatives, and I’d go back just to see them. Check-in even came with a little welcome drink, a first for me. Everyone speaks good English, so communication was easy. The hotel is perfectly okay, with a few flaws, and being pet friendly is a big plus. Check with the hotel if you’re counting on the outdoor spa area, as it’s under construction. My room didn’t have enough ventilation, so wet clothes stayed damp overnight. Breakfast is a little different from what you might expect in other countries, though you can order extra dishes from the kitchen if you don’t find what you want.

We went for a romantic getaway and spent two nights at Alps Oriental Hotel. The staff were welcoming and hospitable, and made the stay feel special and memorable. Our comfortable room had a balcony with a lovely mountain view. The restaurant food was delicious, and we also really enjoyed the spa. It has a steam room, indoor and outdoor sona, an ice pool, an outdoor jacuzzi, and plenty more. We had such a wonderful time and would happily return. Highly recommend for couples and families.
