Our host Pierpaolo treated us better than I’ve ever been treated on my travels, with world class hospitality. The place felt like authentic Italy and was far better than our visit to Rome. It’s a comfortable space in a fantastic, non-touristy spot, with the sea just a few minutes away on foot. Great restaurants, shops, and the market are right outside.

We spent three fantastic days on Ortigia, and it was a pleasure to come back to this welcoming little house. It has an unusual, magical feel, while still being fully functional and just steps from local sights. The elegant interior and very comfortable bed were lovely, and the shower was simply fantastic. The owner, Pierpaolo, is friendly, kind, and ready to help with any problem. I highly recommend Jureca Guest House for a unique stay.

We were sent here by an acquaintance and stayed two nights in March 2017. The young Italian owner built the DIY apartment himself and was incredibly friendly. We got to know him over those days, and he showed us the best spots in Syracuse. If you’re after somewhere central, affordable, and untouched, this is a must-see.
