Hotel Al Pino Verde

The room was so filthy and smelled so bad that my father slept in the car. Other guests had mentioned cleanliness problems, and we saw the same things. We told the staff, but got no response. They simply don't seem to care, and the way they answer reviews shows the same disregard. The condition, food and service weren't what was advertised, and the place isn't worth the money. A waste of time and money. The dining experience was bad too. Staff first told us to sit at one table, then interrupted our meal and rudely ordered us to move, without explaining why. Breakfast was almost nonexistent, and what was available looked old and unappealing. I tried some food and ended up with heartburn. The water in the dining area was just tap water. When I booked, the listing said the room had three beds. On arrival they said it was only for two guests, so I paid for another room without a problem. The owner's reply didn't address the room condition or food, the main reasons for my review. When staff couldn't give me a clear answer about a refund, I contacted my credit card company and sent photos. The refund was approved. If this were really an isolated case, the rating probably wouldn't be 3.7 stars. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. I saw other guests' reviews about poor cleanliness and they were right.

The room's cleanliness was my biggest concern. There were stains on the sheets and walls, and spiders came through a hole in the ceiling, then crawled onto our bed. The thermostat stayed at 80 degrees F, and the vending machine was broken. The location wasn't terrible, but the front desk person kept disappearing into the back or staying on the phone when we tried to raise the problems. We'd booked one more room than they gave us, despite having made the reservation about two years ahead. Someone else got that room. On top of that, students in my school group were charged different prices for the same alcohol. Two girls were told their drinks cost about 6 euros, though a young man said they were actually around 3 something. The woman at the bar insisted on the higher price. Two male members of our group had already paid 3 euros less. The young guy at the bar was an exception, but most staff gave poor service, ignored concerns, and didn't treat people fairly. I was deeply disappointed. I don't recommend this place.

Travelers, beware. I've led four large tours of young people through Europe, and this was by far my worst experience. One of my students wrote the review just before mine. Rather than apologize, the owner accused her of lying and blamed our group. Students took pictures of the stained sheets and spiders coming in, as shown in the attached photos. The staff weren't helpful, the students were overcharged for drinks as described in the earlier review, and dinner was terrible. At breakfast, the eggs were ice cold. Our tour director had to get into a heated discussion with staff before any of our concerns were addressed. What upset me most was the owners' attitude. They seem uninterested in making guests' stays pleasant or improving the service. I'll contact my travel company and do my best to make sure they don't send travelers to this hotel again.

We'd expected to sleep for a few hours before getting back on the road, but the room was so awful that my husband and I spent the night in our car in the parking lot. We needed a very late check-in, and the hotel offered that service, which is why we chose to stay. The furniture and bathroom fittings were in very poor shape, and the cleanliness was bad. Worst of all was the unbearable smell. We tried the balcony, but it was just as bad there. We went to reception to complain, then gave up and slept outside. It was too late and we were too tired to find another hotel. In the morning we went back out of curiosity to try breakfast, but couldn't eat a bite. It was even more disgusting than the room, if that's possible. Before leaving, my husband asked to speak to the manager and explained what was wrong. The manager wasn't open to complaints, things got tense, and staff spoke to us in a threatening tone. We realized there was no point arguing. They clearly knew about the hotel's problems and didn't care. We left rather than disrupt our travel plans.
