Agriturist Rupestr

The dinner at Giorgio's place felt like eating at your grandma's, in the best way. We were made to feel so welcome throughout our stay. His wine was lovely, and he didn't pressure us to try it, though I definitely recommend it. It was a great experience staying at Giorgio domain, and I'd highly recommend stopping there at least once in your life.

The meal here was easily the best we had in Piemonte. We’d been underwhelmed by the food elsewhere despite giving it a good try, so we came in unsure what to expect after Michael connected us with his family friends. It felt like being welcomed into someone's home and fed by family. There was no menu, just a 6-7 course lunch, with homemade ravioli plin, homemade gnochhi, veal, Guinea hen, and plenty more. Every dish was better than the last. For two people, including wine, it was 85€. The views are incredible too. We heard about the place from the guys at El Valet Tartufaia, who can take you truffle hunting.

This place feels like the center of the world! We had a wonderful stay, very much in the Piemontese style. Right in the heart of Asti, the agriturismo is a charming original, with its very Piemontese host, Giorgio. If you're after warm hospitality and really good rural Piemontese cooking, this is the place.

Our overnight spot in the motorhome looked out over the vineyards, and parking was free when we had dinner in the lovely restaurant. The owners were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. We paid £35 per head for a fantastic seven-course meal and excellent wine, all locally sourced. If you're arriving in a motorhome, call ahead since there aren't many spaces. Thanks so much, Rupestr.
