The reception team were so helpful and friendly that they lifted my rating from 2 to 3. The hotel itself is in a great location. The restaurant staff were friendly, though they couldn't always help. Breakfast was average: the free scrambled eggs were terrible, and two fried eggs cost 5 Euros. They didn't know what a poached egg was, even in Italian. The bar staff were less friendly, though the bar was always busy. Once they brought the wrong drink, then said they couldn't change it and we'd have to pay. All the hotels and restaurants along the row belong to the same group. Service at Europa restaurant wasn't great either. Their Ceasar salad had none of the usual ingredients apart from chicken, with the wrong lettuce and dressing and no croutons. When we asked about it, we got a rude response.

Owner Afreddo was especially generous with the wine tasting, and the staff were extremely warm and friendly. It's a beautiful boutique hotel right on the waterfront.

We could easily have stayed a third night. Lovely place, great view, and the restaurant prices are good. It can get a bit noisy when the bar closes, but to me that adds to the scenery. Enjoy!

The pool area and hotel layout are stunning, much better than the website pictures suggest. We stayed in an apartment overlooking the pool, and everything was spotless, with warm, friendly service the whole time. It did get crowded around the pool on most days, so finding a chair on sunny days could be difficult. Still, the different levels mean it doesn't feel like there are tons of people. Breakfast was really nice, though the coffee could be better, and the lake view while eating is hard to beat. We hope to return, maybe with family or friends next time.

The set menu changed every night, so we got to try plenty of local dishes, and the restaurant food was really nice. The hotel sits right on the lake, and a lakeside room is a good way to enjoy the views. The pool was just the right temperature, though people were competing for deck chairs in the morning. For a day of swimming and sunbathing, the better spot is further along towards Cannero's southern end. You can also hire the hotel's boat, which is well worth it for seeing all of Lake Maggiore. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in!
