Cascina Nel Bosco

We’ve stayed at this B&B at least a dozen times, and this was another thoroughly relaxing holiday for my wife, me, and our dog. This time our apartment had two rooms, two large bathrooms, a spacious veranda, and a small garden. We enjoyed the varied, picturesque loop around town, which ends at the lake and Cannobio’s promenade. There are countless restaurants along there, at every price point. On the way back, we wandered through the beautiful old town and happily stopped for an Aperol.

The hosts were incredibly friendly, and we felt so comfortable as a couple that we extended our stay. The place is quiet and stays cool by the forest, with a little stream and hiking trail behind the house. It’s around a 15-minute walk to the lake, or just five minutes by bike, which I recommend. The host also delivers bread, and you can leave bicycles in the garage.

It’s a little way from the center, about a 15-minute walk to the old town, but we loved how peaceful and cool the rooms were by the forest. The garden and bread delivery were nice, too. The hosts are very welcoming and always available if you need them.

We had a fantastic view of the mountains and lake from the balcony. The property feels somewhat secluded, but the town center is still an easy walk, about 15-20 minutes away.
