Firenze

This was a nightmare of a stay at Hotel Firenze. The room was dark, damp, and filthy, with mold on the walls, ceiling, shower, and window corners. We smelled it as soon as we entered, and the sheets were dirty and stained. The bathroom was disgusting too, with hair in the shower, soap scum everywhere, and a toilet seat that looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. I wouldn’t be surprised if it attracted cockroaches. The food was just as bad. Meals tasted old and reheated, and even the smell was nauseating. Breakfast was a couple of stale croissants, cheap butter packets, and awful coffee. The portions were tiny. We found what looked like mold growing on a piece of bread, and we didn’t feel safe eating the fruit either, since it seemed to have been sitting out for days. When we raised concerns, the family running the place ignored us or rolled their eyes. They were rude, condescending, and unprofessional, and treated us like a burden. One of them even laughed when we pointed out the mold in our room. Their attitude wiped out any hope of salvaging the trip. The so-called amenities didn’t help. We got sample-size shampoo, the Wi-Fi barely worked, the air conditioning was broken, and the walls were so thin we could hear a neighbor snoring and another couple arguing late at night. I’d never recommend Hotel Firenze. This was one of the worst experiences of my life, and I wish I could give zero stars. It felt like surviving a horror movie. The place should be shut down by health inspectors. Absolutely terrible, never again.
