I stopped for a meal after seeing beautiful ancient Paestum. You can look out at the archaeological park of Paestum while you eat, and the location is excellent. The pizza was great and cost less than at the other places around the museum. The barman kindly made my coffee just the way I like it, and it was still only €1. Amazing.

We weren't expecting much from a restaurant right across the road from an archaeological site, and we usually wouldn't stop at a place so close to a tourist attraction. Glad we made an exception. The pizza was good, and so was the service from the friendly staff. We'd happily visit again when we're in the area.

For just 5 euros, the pizza margherita tasted great, filled me up and kept me going. I think it's closer to Northern Italian style than local, with a slightly thicker crust. After four trips to Italy over several months, it's one of the best pizzas I've had. If you're heading to the ruins and museum, I'd suggest stopping here for lunch. The staff were all friendly, and the bathroom was clean and stocked.

The hotel is really well located for visiting the ruins, but even though the room was cheap, it was by far the worst value for money of our whole trip. It wasn't clean at all, and there was a horrible smell in the room.
