Fattoria Gambaro di Petrognano

We were robbed while staying here. My room was broken into, and I suspect Airbnb won't publish this review. Apparently the property has been robbed before, but that isn't advertised and the owners don't tell you. It seems like a crime hotspot. There is absolutely no security: the pool area and the whole Villa are unlocked, so anyone from the street can get in. The doors are easy to kick in, and, of course, there are no cameras. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. If you do take the chance and stay, the accommodation is very basic, maybe one star, and way overpriced. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. There are no mosquito nets despite all the mosquitoes in summer. The host didn't reply to my two messages before check-in. The pool is cold and too deep for children, with no shallow area. The wine costs €12 for very basic table wine that should cost €4 at most. I have nothing good to say about this place, and after losing thousands to thieves, I wish I'd stayed anywhere else.

The valley views are lovely, and the old villa has real charm. Rooms are clean and tidy, though their very rustic style won’t suit everyone. Getting there is difficult without a car since the bus only comes about twice a day.

We found a simple place with plenty of charm, and the hosts made us feel so welcome. Thanks so much for the hospitality! 🥰

The staff were really friendly and spoke fluent English, and the view was great. Our room was clean and the Wi-Fi worked fine. You definitely need a car to get there. If you're coming from Turkey, breakfast might not be enough for you ^^
