Villa Cortinella

We were a family of five, two adults and children aged 10, 12 and 14, staying here in Capannori in June 2025. The house was even better than we expected: very clean, well equipped and practical for a family holiday. The children loved having their own room upstairs, and we spent countless hours around the pool. It seemed to clean itself overnight! We also enjoyed relaxing in the garden and eating outdoors. The owner lives next door, but our privacy was never an issue. It was reassuring to know they were nearby if any problems came up. Evenings were peaceful, and the location worked really well for exploring the Lucca region. A car was essential for our week. In Lucca, we wandered the charming streets, shopped and visited Palazzo Pfanner and its lovely garden. Park Mazzini inside the city walls was very convenient. We also enjoyed the views and atmosphere in Montecarlo village and at the fortress. Riomaggiore in Cinque Terre was scenic, but crowded and hot. At Quercianella we swam and snorkelled by the lovely stony beaches, and we went shopping at Centro Commerciale Montecatini. We visited Viareggio and Pietrasanta beaches too. They’re full of private beach clubs, which cost our group 30-50 a day, though there are public beaches here and there. We’d highly recommend the house and would love to return.
