It took us an hour just to find the place, way out in the countryside. The welcome was awful: the owner wasn’t even home when we arrived and only showed up the next morning. The furnishings felt neglected, and the bed they called a double was actually a three-quarter bed sitting straight on the floor. Cleaning was poor, the towels smelled bad, and there was no hot water. A terrible experience. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The owner’s hippy-kitsch artwork gives the place an alternative feel, and you’re greeted by a dog, goats, and rabbits. The cleanliness is good. The access road is the downside: it’s a very long, rocky dirt track full of potholes, and could be dangerous for some vehicles.

The owners are friendly and the lake view is beautiful, but the access road isn’t very convenient, even though it’s passable. The property is a large 1960s house divided into rooms, furnished in a way that may be a bit too original; something simpler would suit better. There’s also a musty smell. Perhaps accommodation best suited to young athletes.
