Hotel Villa Rodriguez

The rest of the staff were friendly, but we definitely didn’t feel welcome or treated like guests. My girlfriend was frightened by the end of it, and we left because we were worried the situation might escalate. We’d arranged to check out at 10:30. At 10:24, the older lady who owns the place called and rudely asked for the key. When we got to reception on time at 10:29 and said we were disappointed by the unfriendly treatment, she wouldn’t listen or speak respectfully. She raised her voice and mimicked us, completely losing control. There were other problems during the week too. The Wi-Fi didn’t work properly, soy milk wasn’t replenished the whole week and was disgusting by the last few days, and my request for vegan butter was ignored. The mattress felt very old, with every metal piece noticeable. My back felt it after just a few hours of sleep. Never again, we’re very disappointed.

You can’t beat the spot right by the beach, and everything was clean. The food was delicious, service was amazing, and the staff were the kindest, most helpful people, always attentive. I’d happily return to Villa Rodriguez and wouldn’t even consider anywhere else on Naregno beach.

We spent a week on the Island of Elba, using Villa Rodriguez as our base. It was quiet and well located for Capoliveri, Porto Azzurro, and several walking and biking destinations. We especially liked the terrace for evening drinks, the private beach for a swim, the garden, and the parking at the back of the hotel. The breakfast was generous, and the food was good when we chose to eat there. The team were kind and helpful, and the family atmosphere was lovely. The cleanliness really stood out. Rooms are simple and comfortable, just right for a holiday, though the walls are paper thin, as is often the case in Italy.

Naregno is a wonderful location, and the staff gave us phenomenal service.
