Hotel Saracino

Capraia Island is a lovely place to unwind, and Saracino Hotel fits right in with its beauty. The hotel was clean and welcoming, and our room was spacious enough and very clean as well. The owner deserves a lot of credit, a real all-rounder. We’ll be back.

We had a spacious, comfortable room with a panoramic view, and guests can use the beautiful swimming pool and its generously furnished areas. We spent five nights at the hotel. Our son gave us three as a gift for our 40th wedding anniversary, and we stayed two more because strong mistral winds stopped our return trip on the Toremar ferry. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and courteous as they sorted out our logistical problems. We came away with an excellent impression.

The restaurant was a real highlight, with super fresh, just-caught fish and thoughtfully chosen dishes. The hotel itself is in a very scenic spot, and the pool terrace is beautiful, with canopy beds, a kiosk and relaxing music. It’s a perfect place to unwind after a beach day or a long walk. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the staff attentive and friendly. A charming hotel for anyone who loves this unique island.

The food was the standout for me. The chef is excellent, there’s a different selection every day, and the homemade breakfast desserts are delicious. She’s talented and very kind, too. I came back a few weeks later and can confirm the food was still excellent. The hotel has a lovely view over the island’s gulf and is in the historic centre, easy to reach on foot. The outdoor parking area is tiny, but honestly, I’d strongly advise against bringing a car to Capraia since it isn’t needed. The atmosphere is refined, the rooms are especially clean, and the bed is comfortable. The bathroom has a decent-sized shower, and the rooms have Old Navy-style furnishings. I hope to return closer to the season and enjoy the pool.
