Agape

A lovely spot in an amazing location, with such warm hospitality. There's a magical forest nearby, along with beautiful old villages.

We spent a fantastic holiday here with friends. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxed, and we enjoyed evenings outside in the fresh air without mosquitoes bothering us. The apartments felt comfortable and newly built, with lovely windows looking out over nature and the animals. The lake is only 15 minutes away. There are nice walks in the nearby woods too, which felt really refreshing. Parking was convenient, and getting there was easy despite the dirt road. Thanks, we'll be back!

I stayed there for almost a year, and I personally never noticed a stable smell. But the place didn't match its description: there were exposed wires in the bathrooms, internet cost extra, and flies and ants got into the room. It was very hot in summer without air conditioning. The lady kept insisting on giving us a stifling kind of service. She's a Jehovah's Witness, as are others at the facility, and she isn't capable of running this business. The grass was tall and the few potted plants were poorly cared for.

Beatrice is genuinely lovely, polite, and kind, which makes this hard to say, but I won't return to her farmhouse. I booked because I wanted to use the stream near the agriturismo and feel safe. The stream and waterfall were gone, through no fault of Mrs. Beatrice's, but I wish she'd told me before we left so I could decide whether to change plans or accept it. The place was quiet, though flies and insects kept getting into the apartment, which felt more like a converted garage. Dogs barking at night interrupted our sleep. The short road in was narrow and slippery, and really annoying. I'm not someone who needs a 4-star hotel, or I wouldn't have picked an agriturismo for my one week of holiday a year. Still, we ended up eating at restaurants most evenings, because dining at the agriturismo wasn't peaceful with all the flies and manure smells. I'm very sorry for Beatrice, because, as I said, she's a wonderful person.
