Cala Luas Resort

The clear-water beach was amazing, but using the sunbeds and umbrella costs extra, even for hotel guests. Dinner was better than breakfast, though there wasn’t much variety, and it was free for everyone. The rooms and furniture felt very old, and there was even a spider web on the ceiling. This is a good spot for relaxing and can work well for a family. Don’t expect a fancy resort, though. It’s in a remote area, so you need a car, even though groceries and restaurants are only about a ten-minute drive away.

The food was the best I’ve had at a hotel in Europe. Breakfast didn’t have much variety, but dinner was always special and high quality. The wine was good, as you’d expect from a Sardinian resort. It’s peaceful and pleasant, surrounded by wild countryside, with large rooms in a retro style. The walk down to the beach is relaxing. We didn’t spend much time at the pool, since we came to enjoy the beautiful nearby beaches, about 20 minutes north by car. You’ll need a car to get here, and you’ll want one to explore the island anyway. I recommend hiring a boat from Albatrax and heading north along the coast. The scenery is unique.

The only tricky part with small kids is the steep way down into the sea, but it’s manageable. The hotel has parking and its own beach with sunbeds, and it’s great value for money. The rooms are in typical Sardinian style, simple but with everything you need. They were very clean, and the kitchen was amazing. Many thanks to the cook and his team, the housekeepers and administrators, and the Peter Pan team for the lovely entertainment. It’s a very kid-friendly hotel.

We had a wonderful 10-day stay at Cala Luas with our family and kids. We found more than enough to do, despite what some critics say, and we’re leaving with beautiful photos and memories. The area has gorgeous beaches, caves (grotta), a natural pool, boat trips, and more. The hotel was very clean and had everything we needed in one place: a pleasant pool, private beach, swimming supervision at both, and breakfast and dinner. Staff from reception to the dining room and bar were professional, kind, and focused on guests. A couple of small things could be better. The meal times are only 7.30 to 9.30 in the morning and evening, so the best desserts may be gone by 9 pm. Also, some plastic glasses are clearly unsuitable for wine or grappa, though most glasses are glass. Thanks to the whole team, especially Eugenia, Morena, Elena, Monica, Mauro, Martino, and Andrea for his desserts. I’d happily recommend this place to friends.
