The location is marvelous, set in the Apuan Alps with a view over Lake Isola Santa. It’s a great base for exploring the Garfagnana and, if you want, Versilia. The village is charming and well looked after, and there are still some local residents, which adds to the authentic feel. It’s now mostly an albergo diffuso, with apartments spread through the village, each with its own orientation and sometimes a small outdoor area. The forest below is a good place to get away with a dog. We stayed with family for a wonderful long weekend at the end of May, booking half the property. The apartments were welcoming and fully equipped. The family-run owners are just under a kilometer away, at the restaurant with panoramic views. They serve home-cooked food with plenty of choices, and the restaurant is also where you check in and out. The owners and staff were extremely kind, welcoming, and friendly. You can choose B&B or half-board. Breakfast is packaged and delivered to your apartment when you arrive. The property sign says Ceraggeta Resort. There’s no phone coverage except for TIM, but Wi-Fi is available.

Francesca and the waiter who served us dinner during our two-day stay were exceptional, and the restaurant was excellent. Our apartment was super clean and had everything we needed, with a view of Mount Sumbra. Thanks, guys. We’ll definitely be back. Barbara and Antonio

The food was so good and plentiful that you’d have to be constantly on a diet to avoid it! We had a great time, thanks. The village is a dream, quiet and full of character, with fully equipped houses and a pool overlooking the mountains and lake. The owners were smiling, kind, and hospitable, and had lots of advice on what to see and where to go. Well done, guys.
