Il Melograno

The only good point was the private parking. The room itself was spotless, but the shower mat was dirty, so we couldn’t use it. There was no heating in the house’s stairs, entryway, or kitchen, and the room was freezing. The air conditioner took hours to warm it up and didn’t do the job well. Its very noisy fan made it hard to sleep that night. Then at 7:00 a.m., the owner called because she thought I’d left the property without returning the keys, even though checkout wasn’t until 11:00 a.m.

The owners were warm and friendly, and everything was clean and well kept. We were only there for one night, but we’d come back if we get the chance.

The host is very kind and helpful, and the rooms are immaculate with carefully maintained furnishings. It’s quiet, and the shared kitchen and breakfast area has a coffee machine and snacks. From there, you reach two comfortable double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The property was converted from a private home and feels comfortable, though it’s a little remote. There’s convenient parking, and the first floor is up two flights of stairs, so it won’t suit people with mobility issues. Il Melograno is about a five-minute walk from the Metro, with links to Palermo, the airport, and seaside towns, so you can manage without a car. At €55 per person, though, the price may be a bit high for the location.

We were welcomed so well, and the service was excellent. It made for a really good stay.
