Villaggio San Demetrio

We spent four nights here with our two kids, and the family running the place made us feel almost like part of their own. The food was amazing, traditional and rustic, with plenty of choices for different tastes and a kids' menu too. We also tried the horse riding, which was fun and educational. The setting is peaceful, with mature trees and plants around the agritourism. Staff keep everything in good order: the pool was always clean, our clean room was serviced daily, and each room has a mini fridge and TV. We'll definitely visit again.

The staff were super nice, the food was amazing, and it was such a peaceful place to wind down after our Sicily trip. We wished we'd booked another night. You can ride horses and pet the farm animals. It's also easy to drive to the airport from here, with a gas station along the way.

We left with full stomachs and smiles after a fun, delicious New Year's Eve dinner. The kitchen had fairly short notice of my lacto-ovo vegetarian diet, but listened to what I wanted. All the staff were polite.

We came to il Giardino del Sole in the Sicilian countryside, between Catania and Siracusa, for dear friends' wedding with my wife and two-year-old daughter. We fell in love with the place, and the family's story, told through reception photos from when they started 14 years ago, makes what they've built all the more incredible. The food was amazing at every meal. Breakfast brought homemade orange and passion fruit jams with brioches and free-range eggs; every dish from the kitchen was delicious, and the wood-fired pizzas were some of the best I've had. The pistacchio mortadella pizza stood out in particular. The family-run feel comes through everywhere. The rooms and bungalows were clean and tidy, with air conditioning and TVs, and Wi-Fi worked throughout. There's a playground next to the pool. The old family furniture and Caltagirone porcelain in the dining room are beautiful, and the attention to detail made me want to spend hours looking around and imagining their stories. The staff were professional and quick to help with requests. Marco and Sign. Enza were always there, so helpful and skilled at solving problems. Their efforts made our friends' wedding even more magical. We can't wait to return and strongly recommend the place.
