Hotel Residence Exclusive

We booked just one night on the way to Milan, mainly because they assured my husband the AC could cool the room to 19C. That’s unusual in Italy, and I’m normally pretty skeptical of three-star hotels. The room turned out to be large, with a kitchenette, dining area, and a very big balcony. It was clean, the king-size bed was comfortable, and the AC worked well. Breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The beach club is just across the road. We’re sure to stay again on our next trip. I don’t have any real complaints. If I were being picky, fluffier towels and bathrobes would be nice. I suppose that might mean a higher star rating and higher prices, though. Just a thought for the future.

For 220 Eur, I got an apartment at the price of a room, because one was available. It had everything needed, including a kitchen, bedroom, and large living room. There’s no restaurant in the hotel, and breakfast was more than OK. The receptionists were welcoming, and check-in and checkout were quick. They also let me check out late. A good choice in Massa, though you can hear car noise even with insulated windows.

The two rooms worked exactly right for our group of two families. They were spacious and the beds were very comfortable, and we all enjoyed the breakfast. It’s an excellent hotel, with easy communication and a very convenient location: four minutes on foot to the sandy beach, and a 20-40 minute drive to Pisa and La Spezia for boat trips to Cinque Terre. They also arranged late check-in for us. We got an access code, and the room keys were waiting, so arriving was easy. We’d come back if we travel to the area again.

The place is clean, and breakfast was OK to good. We asked for a two-bedroom apartment and called to confirm it would have a sitting room, but what we got was two bedrooms you had to walk through. That was disappointing. The location is good, right across from the beach and not too far from the square.
