The rooms were spacious, comfortable, well equipped and very clean. We tried both a suite and a basic double, and each had a freshly renovated feel. The castle itself is charming, and breakfast was simple but nice. I only found two outlets by the bed and one in the bathroom, which was a bit inconvenient. Dinner was where things got awkward. We had booked a set menu for three because of an event, but one of us fell ill and didn’t eat, apart from asking for dry biscuits. At checkout we were charged €35 for that person rather than the full €45. We hadn’t been told beforehand about any no-show fee or partial charge, so the billing and communication were disappointing. It’s a beautiful place, though the price felt high for the service and experience.

Pietro was a really friendly, professional guide for our wine tasting. We heard great stories about the wines and had some excellent food, too. They even had juice tasting for the kids, which was a lovely touch. Definitely worth trying when you're in Abruzzo.

We especially enjoyed sitting out in the garden among the lovely grounds, with Masciarelli wines to enjoy. Reception was helpful, and both breakfast and the set dinner were good, with excellent service. Such a beautiful castle and winery up on the hill. Highly recommend it.

The garden guy was a real hero. He showed us around and told us about the castle and garden, and I won't forget that tour. The staff were great, and it's a magical place. Dinner let things down, though, and I’m sorry to say the food wasn’t that good. Everything else was 5/5, so it’s a 4/5 for me.

The wines were reasonably priced, but there isn’t much to do nearby. You also have to book the restaurant ahead, so a last-minute meal isn’t an option. We attended a wedding here, and the service was below average. Staff came across as very defensive, the rooms were subpar, and the hotel manager was rude. Beautiful location, but I don’t recommend it.
