Hotel La Maggioressa

Franz deserves a special thank you. He welcomed us with so much warmth and hospitality at this family establishment, offered guidance and fresh lemonade, and took care of every request. The breakfast, included in the room price, was an authentic Italian food experience. The place is amazing, from its architecture to the way it’s run. We felt at home and will definitely recommend it and come back.

The hosts made us feel at home, they’re so warm and welcoming. The food at the hotel was one of our highlights, fresh, full of flavor, and made with love by a talented chef. It was some of the best I ate on the island. Hotel Maggiorezza is a lovely little family-run place on Ischia, with a lush inner garden that feels like a peaceful oasis. The pool can look a little green at first, but it’s natural spring water, renewed daily and free of chlorine. It’s thermal water and great for your skin. A dip in the warm pool in the evening was pure bliss. We’d come back in a heartbeat.

The thermal pool is a real bonus, and dinner was even better than the good breakfast. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. There are little terraces and spots to sit around the nice building. Some parts of the building and rooms could use renovation, but it’s still great value for money and has everything you need. I had a wonderful time.

After our tiring journey, the welcoming family made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. The manager is professional and takes every request to heart. Franz, you’re the man. We’ll be back for more. La Maggioressa is a charming, authentic, peaceful little getaway, pretty much everything we’d hoped for. It’s a warm, inviting family hotel, rather than a luxury resort. The manager asked us not to give a perfect review because there’s always room to improve, but it would feel dishonest not to give this experience 5/5.
