The hotel is just steps from two large spas, and its thermal water really is good. You can get mud treatments and inhalations, paying only the ticket if you have a prescription and saving €100, then pay extra for massages. There's also a free spa program. The spa is small and not well maintained: a little pool has two waterfalls, but only one works, and some of the hydromassage areas don't work either. The Kneipp area was the best maintained, and the small electric sauna works. The tropical shower doesn't. I only went down once because the tub didn't seem clean, then gave up on it for the rest of my stay. Cleanliness is the hotel's biggest weakness overall, in both rooms and the spa. Maintenance is poor, and it brings down the standard of a place that could be better with a few improvements. Getting around is fairly convenient, even though the hotel sits a bit above the center. The bus stop is only a few meters away, and walking downhill is pleasant. There are three or four ways down. It's about a 15-minute walk to Piazza Marina in Casamicciola, where buses pass roughly every quarter hour. The stairs have more than 150 steps, but the view is stunning and worth seeing at least once, perhaps for a couple of souvenir photos. They're beside a high school overlooking the sea, though it's closed. The climb back is less pleasant, especially for anyone with mobility issues. A bus ride uphill takes just a few minutes. For a longer trip, take the bus to Cretaio, walk up the mountain and through the woods if you like, or get off after Piazza Bagni and take the bus directly to the hotel. Buses uphill only run once an hour, with the last one at 11:00 PM, so plan carefully if you don't want to walk back at night. These were the winter schedules. I was told that there are more buses in summer and that the hotel also offers a shuttle, but I don't know the details. I stayed during New Year's week, in the middle of winter, when many businesses here don't open. My first impression wasn't good, but the place grew on us as the days passed. Today we're leaving, and we'll miss both the hotel and the staff, who we felt close to. The staff are a real strength, from the manager to the waiters Anita and Sasi, who is a truly special guy. They're all kind, helpful, and eager to please. The food is pretty good, and some dishes are exceptional. The chef doesn't put much effort into sides and appetizers, though. I've never seen plain salad leaves served on a little plate as an appetizer, with no dressing at all. On New Year's Eve, they did a great job with both the lunch buffet and the excellent, completely unexpected dinner. The entertainment that night was a hit with everyone, and it made for a truly lovely evening. ❤️ I'm not sure how hotels get their stars, but I don't think this place merits four. Maybe three would be more appropriate. Still, if your expectations are modest, I recommend it. We had a good time.

On the Roulette package, I was quite happy with the stay, especially the spacious room and large terrace. Since we were on full board, the restaurant offered several daily specials to choose from, including local dishes, and drinks were included. The spa was another highlight: we had thermal mud treatments, then finished with a thermal pool, Kneipp therapy, and sauna.

We bought a "Roulette" deal for a 4-star superior property through Go Go Viaggi and ended up in a shabby hotel, more like some of the dives we'd seen in India than the promised standard. The pools were dirty, the rooms and bathrooms were in terrible shape, the food was inedible, breakfast ended at 8:30, and the staff were downright rude. Paying by card showed Go Go Viaggi as the transaction recipient, which made us think the agency had taken over direct management of some properties. It seems that with a Roulette package you're placed by default in these internally managed hotels, with no real lottery at all. A scam for guests and for the island's other hotels that operate honestly. An experience I'd rather forget.

The staff showed real dedication at this small thermal hotel, which has a strong community feel and seems best suited to adults. Manager Elia was consistently friendly and attentive. Agnese at reception was a kind, excellent hostess, while night porter Michele was discreet, courteous, and professional. Vincenzo, the maître, was competent and cordial. Chef Massimiliano made exquisite, varied dishes, and restaurant waitresses Antonietta and Orsola were professional and friendly. Giuseppe and Emanuela at the thermal center were highly skilled and provided excellent service. The room attendants Yeanette and Emanuela did quality work with real dedication, and technical services' Nicola was efficient and always available.
