Hotel La Pace

Pino went out of his way to research where my father and his regiment were stationed in May 1944. That was incredibly valuable to us, and my family and I will always be grateful. He has quietly built up a deep collection of historical artefacts, memorabilia, and library resources, and probably knows more about the WWII campaigns at Monte Cassino than anyone else alive. If you have a family connection to those campaigns, stay at Hotel La Pace and spend some time with him. People from all over the world have done so, and still do. Thank you, Pino. We also loved the practical side of the stay. The staff were professional, very friendly, and helpful, and dealt with requests quickly. They found a secure place for our bicycles. Breakfast was filling, with a good range of choices. Our spacious, comfortable room had a fabulous balcony, city views, and a remarkable view of Monte Cassino. The hotel is a little aged, but we liked that charm, and the location is excellent.

Everyone on the staff was incredibly friendly, and breakfast turned out to be much bigger than I expected, with options for different dietary needs. The lobby was beautiful, and our cozy room had stunning views of the Abbey. Hotel La Pace Experience is in a great spot for a visit to Cassino. I'd happily stay again next time I'm here.

The view from our room was fantastic, and the wine was excellent without being expensive. Pino knows the area and its battles in depth, and can answer questions. Watch his video and hear his talk, and there are guided tours available too. We were warmly welcomed, the staff were attentive and spoke English, and breakfast was delicious.

The breakfast selection was outstanding, and the price made for a great stay. The staff were kind and helpful, answered our questions, and gave us useful help getting to Montecassino.
