Hotel La Culla del Lago

The food was superb and the staff were attentive and quick to respond. I tried the tortillas, linguine, and chocolate soufflé, and would recommend them all! The dining room has glass windows looking out over the lake and the village of Castel Gandolfo. We had a wonderful Sunday here with friends and family. I found the place online, drawn by the views and the delicious-looking dishes in the photos, and the experience lived up to what I'd hoped. It's a cozy, elegant, chic hotel right on the lake, with amazing scenery.

The meal was one of the best experiences we’ve had. The food was spectacular, the drinks were fire, and the service was 10/10. We’d been told to visit the lake, then came across this restaurant and hotel. They were so sweet about letting us park for free and use their sunbed and little private beach while they got ready to open for dinner at 7pm. Wow, just wow.

The rooms are basic and a bit aged, but they were very clean and had air conditioning. This is a really quiet hotel, so don't come expecting a lively bar. Lunch or dinner has to be ordered the day before, though there are plenty of restaurants a 10 or 15 minute walk along the lake. The gardens feel secluded and peaceful, the views are stunning, and the staff are preposterously nice. Whether we were on the veranda with a beer at 2am or having breakfast at 10am, it was superb. Beyond tranquil.

I found this place on Expedia while looking for somewhere calm, away from all the craziness, and it suited me nicely. The staff were really attentive, and the restaurant was good for every meal. A little pricey, but that comes with the territory.
