Golf Residence

The shower was a problem: the hot water kept cutting in and out, so a normal shower wasn’t possible. When I told reception, they asked why I hadn’t reported it earlier and said they would have sent someone. I expect things to work when I arrive, rather than having to test the plumbing. Other basics were lacking. The bed wasn’t properly made, just a thin blanket wrapped in a sheet, with no duvet. I was left wondering about the hygiene of that setup. The kitchen had plates and pans but no salt, oil, tea, coffee, sponge, or dish soap. We’ve stayed in cheaper Italian apartments that provided at least those essentials. There were also hassles with the deposit and checkout. At check-in they required €100 in cash and gave us a small paper slip. We were told losing it meant losing the money. There was no signature, named receipt, or electronic record, just that fragile slip. They said Booking.com doesn’t let them charge for damages, but didn’t offer to hold the amount on my card, even though they had the details through Booking. It felt like a trap, and the cash-only process seemed outdated and exploitative. On checkout, even after calling ahead to ask for an early room check, they wouldn’t send anyone until we handed the keys over in person. We waited around 20 minutes at reception for someone to inspect the apartment and confirm the deposit return. The laundry room closed early before we could collect our washed and dried clothes. Reception had no answer except to wait until the next day. A few hours after my boyfriend posted a negative Google review, someone with keys appeared and let us in. Maybe that was a coincidence, but it seemed they could have helped earlier and chose not to, or changed their attitude because of the review. Hairdryers were limited and needed another deposit. Even after leaving it, none were available. For a modern aparthotel, it felt poorly prepared and managed. The place looks nice in photos, but its systems felt clumsy, outdated, and at times deliberately inconvenient. I hope management takes the feedback seriously and rethinks its approach. If not, I hope this helps other travelers know what they’re getting into. We found the place overpriced and disappointing for a region where its price is well above average.

The complex is really nice and has pools, and breakfast was really good. But the apartments are very old, and our ground floor unit smelled of mold. Check-in took ages. I didn’t expect, at this price, to have to put the sheets on the bed myself, throw out the trash at checkout, and wash the dishes. The blankets were awful. The confirmation should explain where to check in, since the residence itself has a sign saying “Golf residence reception,” and should mention the cleaning and sheets requirements. Another vehicle hit our car in the parking lot. Staff said they couldn’t do anything.

We used the apartment as a base for exploring each day, and with our car it worked well. It’s quiet at night, the parking is good, and the laundrette was close. The apartments are basic and a little rustic, but functional, spacious enough, and the air conditioning was good. There may be a free shuttle to the town by the lake, which is lovely to visit. Outside space seems to be about 8m by 3m for every apartment, but the setup depends on your unit. Some have enclosed terraces or balconies; we had an open ground floor terrace, neighbours on one side and the golf course on the other. It suited us since we only used it to dry clothes. Some terraces face the public walkway, which wouldn’t suit everyone. The resort has pools and kids’ poolside discos, but I think you might get bored if you spent the whole holiday there. It was very quiet at night unless you went to that central area. There were lots of mosquitoes, so come prepared. You have to bring or buy cleaning products, though the kitchen had all the essential utensils apart from a knife sharpener. We’d stay again as a base with a car, but would want more if we were after a poolside holiday.

The outside facilities look nice, but the room was a horror. It stank of old stuff. The photos lie, and I wouldn’t sleep here for free. From the bottom of my heart, don’t stay here!
