La Fonte dell'Astore

The gardens were beautiful, and there was space for the children to play. We were even given coffee before leaving at 4 in the morning. The car park was gated, with no access without reception, which is an excellent idea. It's a lovely, safe family hotel and a good base for day trips. Everyone still talks about the place and the great time we had. Five stars to all the staff, job well done. We were here for a wedding, and the hotel was excellent for it. Nothing was too much trouble. Dinner on our first evening was excellent, and the wedding itself was superb. The manager and staff were brilliant, with five-star customer service. Breakfast was nicely laid out, and the coffee was hot and excellent. I sell coffee, so I know.

We picked this hotel for our daughter's wedding, both for our guests and the reception, and couldn't be happier. The location is beautiful, and the staff made us feel welcome, especially Nico, who went above and beyond and made us feel like family. When my husband broke his ankle, Nico came to help. The food was incredible. Executive Chef Giovanni is talented, and everything from his kitchen was excellent. Our guests were amazed by the food and the generous portions. Nicandro kept an eye on every wedding guest and made sure everything ran smoothly. The breakfast was great too, and the grounds had everything we needed. Thanks especially to Simona, Erika, and Nico. Most rooms are modest, but there are also a few very lovely suites that don't cost much more. The hotel connects to the spa hotel next door, so you can enjoy a spa day without paying spa prices for your room. If you're American and planning an Italian wedding at a great price, this is the place. I'd go back to LaFonte every time I visit Italy. They feel like family.

A rare find, and great value. I found it online, right beside one of the area's main attractions, The Sanctuary of the Madonna Addolorata. My room was clean and comfortable, with a bathroom to a high standard. WiFi was a little weak, but that didn't matter since I had mobile data. Breakfast was included, and the sour cherry crostata was excellent. The reception staff were really helpful too.

The place was fully booked for the week, with another wedding happening the same day as the one I attended. Even so, I felt like I was the only guest there. The hotel is in a very peaceful part of Castelpetroso, Italy.
